Proficiency Levels

The multi-level system for learning English, developed in Great Britain, is widely used and accepted throughout the entire world.

 

It's Elementary

Elementary - In spite of the name, this level allows for significantly enriching knowledge already possessed. With a complete lack of English knowledge, this level presupposes the start of language learning from the most basic of things. Students increase their vocabulary by 1,000 lexical items and improve their understanding of grammar. At the completion of instruction at this level, students can differentiate and understand various sorts of topics, are able to talk about their impressions from observations, talk about future plans, maintain a conversation on general topics, understand a large part of conversations at a moderate pace, read and translate simple texts. Of course, to the point moderate interaction with people, for the time being, is still in the distance.

 

Nearly Halfway

Pre Intermediate - Grammar knowledge is further increased at this level as well as a vocabulary increase of yet another 1,000 lexical items. Students will learn correct pronunciation of rather difficult sentences, independently create complex phrases using various tones of voice depending upon context. Receiving this knowledge permits the nearly fluent use of English in everyday life, telephone conversations, maintain simple business and personal written communications and getting around in foreign travels without an interpreter.

 

Middle Level

Intermediate - A vocabulary increase of yet another 1,000 lexical items and serious progress in grammar. Completing study at this stage, you will be able to understand practically all aspects of a conversation in English of typical topics, rather quickly differentiate the differences of professional and everyday topics, watch original non-fiction films, read English languages periodicals and even feel confident in yourself when traveling abroad. For you, it's not difficult to maintain literate written communications with business partners and acquaintances, participate in business-related conversations with foreign colleagues and talk with friends from English-speaking countries.

 

Even Higher!

Upper Intermediate - You will be practically fluent in English, understand absolutely all conversations of native speakers, fluently and freely hold conversations on any topic using a solid active vocabulary of nearly 5,000 lexical items, know how to use the most refined grammar in use, read unabridged fiction and special literature, and understand English television and radio broadcasts. Such a level of knowledge will not only help you at work and in your personal life, but also raise your status in the eyes of those people around you.

 

Advanced Level

Advanced - At this level, students sharpen their knowledge and nearly reach a professional level. This is especially important for those, who intend to study or work in English-speaking countries, and even for those, whose plans include finding employment in foreign firms and companies.

 

Professional Level

Proficiency - At this level, you will be able to use all aspects and the full range or the English language with the skills of a native speaker in any situation. This includes listening, speaking, reading and writing in both formal and informal situations.
